AGIBOT D1 Edu
Programmable robot dog for education and embodied-AI research.
The AGIBOT D1 Edu is a compact quadruped for universities, universities of applied sciences and research labs. It combines an agile 15.5 kg platform with an SDK and expansion ports, so students and researchers can build their own software and connect their own sensors or computing units. Humanoid-direct supplies the D1 Edu as a value-added distributor of AGIBOT, with advice, demos, training, implementation and service.

What the Edu adds over the D1 Pro
The D1 Edu and the D1 Pro share the same hardware. The difference is in development options: according to AGIBOT, secondary development features are available only in the Edu version.
| D1 Pro | D1 Edu | |
|---|---|---|
| Hardware platform | D1 | D1 (identical) |
| SDK (secondary development) | no | yes |
| Expansion ports | no | Ethernet ×1, USB ×2, power ×2, SBUS ×1, UART ×1 |
What this can mean in practice, for example:
- SDK: developing your own software on top of the platform for lab courses, projects and research.
- Ethernet and USB: connecting an external computer or additional sensor.
- Power ×2: powering connected modules.
- SBUS and UART: interfacing with your own electronics.
How education and research use the D1 Edu
AGIBOT positions the D1 Edu for "Scientific Research & Education". Example applications:
- Robotics and mechatronics education: students work with a real quadruped platform, from control to their own extensions.
- Embodied-AI and locomotion research: gait control is RL-based (reinforcement learning); with the SDK and ports, your lab can build its own experiments on the platform.
- Projects and thesis work: the expansion ports make it straightforward to integrate custom sensors and hardware.
- Demonstrations and open days: the platform performs dynamic motions such as jumps, walking on two legs and a backflip.
